UNION GAS TO SURVEY RESIDENTS BY PHONE

As part of an application process for a natural gas grant program, representatives from FORUM Research are conducting research on behalf of Union Gas.

Union Gas is required to collect survey data in the communities they are interested in serving.  They plan to survey residents in Ramara by phone to gather data required for the grant application and determine if there is significant enough interest to warrant a project application.

The estimated dates to conduct phone surveys are between May 12th – 28th.  Please note that there may be slight variation to these dates.

Wednesday May 17, 2017 from Concession Road 13 to Monck Road from 8:30 am until 3:00pm.

Thursday May 18, 2017 from 100 meters south of Concession Road 9 to Concession Road 10 from 7 am until 5 pm.

PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT CHARGES BYLAWS AMENDMENTS

The Township is in process of amending Development Charges by-law 2014.65 (Brechin/Lagoon City service area) and Development Charges by-law 2015.13 (Township-wide services). Consistent with the requirements of the Development Charges Act, the DC Amendment Studies are provided for public review as part of the process for the Township to amend the Development Charges by-laws. The Council of the Township of Ramara will hold a public meeting regarding the proposed amendment to Development Charges By-Law 2014.65 (Brechin/Lagoon City service area) and By-Law 2015.13 (Township-wide services) at a later date. Notice of this meeting will be given in accordance with requirements of the DC Act.

NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF TOWNSHIP OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 18 - STRAWBERRY ISLAND

TAKE NOTICE that on July 27, 2015, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Ramara enacted By-law No. 2015.39 adopting Amendment No. 18 to the Official Plan of the Township of Ramara.

OPA 18 designates Strawberry Island as "Island Accommodation (Strawberry Island)" and in part as "Natural Area Protection", instead of "Rural".

Funding Assistance for Wetland Projects

 Ducks Unlimited Canada logo

Ducks Unlimited Canada has a new program, called the Lake Simcoe Georgian Bay Wetland Collaborative, with funding available for landowners for wetland restoration projects through March 2017. Eligible projects include wetland restoration, livestock exclusion fencing and nesting boxes.  Ducks Unlimited Canada can cover up to 90% of the costs for these projects.
