Service Changes in response to COVID-19
Our main priority is the health and safety of our community and staff. As situations develop, we continue to adjust our operations based on the latest recommendations of health authorities. We ask residents that during this time to remain vigilant in following provincial directives to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The public can visit our Administration Office located at 2297 Highway 12 in Brechin for walk-in services. Our office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Book an Appointment
Book an appointment is not required, but it will ensure staff are available during your visit. To Book an Appointment, the public is asked to either call or sign up using our online Book an Appointment tool.
The public is reminded of the following:
- Everyone entering the facility is required to wear a face covering.
- Signage and floor decals will indicate proper physical distancing.
- Everyone entering the municipal building is encouraged to use the hand sanitizer available at the entrance and regularly throughout their stay.

Short-Term Rental Accommodation |
As of January 31, 2022, STRAs are permitted to resume operation with certain restrictions. The Township of Ramara still requires all operators to obtain an annual licence before they begin to advertise and rent their short term rental accommodation. Renters should also ensure that before renting an STRA in Ramara that they confirm the operator has a valid licence to operate. In addition, all social gathering restrictions will still apply to these rentals and the occupancy numbers for these rentals may not exceed their approved occupancy. The licence is valid for one (1) year from date of issue. For more information, please refer to the Short-Term Rental Accommodation page. |
Recreation Programs and Day Camps |

Building Department |
New building permit applications are being accepted electronically through our online portal, Cloudpermit. All fees can be paid by online banking or credit card after an invoice is requested or by cheque that is dropped off in the outside drop off box. Please visit pay a bill for more information. Please note that payments need to be made in full in order for the permit to be issued. Building inspections are being carried out Monday to Friday. To book an inspection, please book it through Cloudpermit or call the inspection line. Please note that due to the influx of building inspections, a building inspection may need more than 48 hours notice. To book an inspection Please call 705-484-5374 ext. 298. |
Bylaw Enforcement |
Bylaw complaints can be submitted online using our Report a Concern portal. Bylaw officers will receive and respond to complaints Monday to Sunday between 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. |
Infrastructure Department |
Infrastructure Department staff are very busy maintaining essential services, so we are asking residents to be patient when it comes to maintaining non-essential services. It is a busy time for staff who are busy clearing roads safely and quickly and getting ready for summer road projects. We remind residents to not approach staff who are working diligently. If you wish to file a complaint, please submitted a complaint online using our Report a Concern portal or call 705-484-5374 x232 during business hours or after hour emergencies at 705-484-5374 and press 8. If you call you must leave your name and phone number and the address you are calling about. |

All Council, Committee of the Whole, Committee of Adjustment and Lagoon City Parks and Waterways Commission meetings can be accessed electronically through the Township's Civicweb portal or the Township of Ramara’s YouTube page. Residents can learn more about decisions made in Council and Committee meetings by viewing the Township's Council Highlights page. |
Planning Applications |
All planning applications are accepted electronically. All fees can be paid online or by cheque that is dropped off in the outside drop off box. Please visit pay a bill for more information. The Committee of Adjustment meetings will be held electronically using the Zoom platform. Please refer to the meeting and cut off dates posted on the website to ensure you meet the deadlines for submission. Meetings can be viewed on the Township of Ramara YouTube channel.
