The nominations for the Wall of Fame and Spirit of Ramara awards is extended to Friday, August 2, 2024.
Every year, the Township of Ramara recognizes and honours the achievements and contributions of community members through two Ramara awards: Ramara Wall of Fame and Spirit of Ramara awards programs. These awards recognize and showcase the talents, values and contributions of residents and groups in Ramara. The Awards Committee oversees the Ramara Award programs.
Ramara Wall of Fame
The Ramara Wall of Fame was established to recognize and showcase the talents, values, and contributions of permanent, seasonal, or temporary residents within the boundaries of Ramara Township, whether the recognition is regional, national, international or historical in the building of the Township.
Nominate for Wall of Fame
Criteria

- The nominee(s) received regional, national and/or international recognition in their field of endeavour. The recognition may have been a special award, prominent position, dissemination of work, philanthropy, etc.
- The nominee(s) should have resided in Ramara or the surrounding area, prior to the recognition.
- The nominee(s) must have substantially impacted or brought recognition to any community within the boundaries of Ramara Township and its citizens.
- The nominee(s) can be inducted into the Wall of Fame posthumously. In such instances, the nominee's family must (where possible) consent to the submission.

- Complete the Nomination form and ensure all areas are complete.
- Letter(s) of support explaining why your nominee is worthy of Wall of Fame consideration.
- Additional material to support the nomination (publications, photos, etc.)
- Submissions have been extended to Friday, August 2, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. An extension from the original due date (last business day of June).

Spirit of Ramara Award
The purpose of the Spirit of Ramara Award is to recognize and showcase community groups, organizations or individuals who have contributed to the betterment of the Township of Ramara through accomplishments or contributions that significantly enhance the quality of life and community spirit in Ramara.
Nominate for Spirit of Ramara
Criteria
|
- Individuals who achieve excellence despite the special challenges they face;
- Exemplary leadership and outstanding community services provided without regard for personal gains such as coaching, volunteerism, arts and cultural contributions, teaching, environmental and humanitarian champions, significant acts of philanthropy or heroism, advocates for community inclusion, and other noteworthy endeavours;
- Positive contributions by the youth of the community who has provided outstanding service to the community without regard for personal gain. Youth winners under the age of 18 will be presented with a monetary award.
- Contributions to the neighbourhood community through a single act of kindness or multiple good deeds benefiting many people: the unsung hero who makes their neighbourhood a better place to live.
- Contributions by a local business that regularly contributes to the overall quality of life in Ramara through endeavours that support community service, programs or events and/or foster positive relationships with volunteer groups or activities.
- Recognition of the contributions of an individual for their overall outstanding community service, dedication and commitment to improving the quality of life for the citizens of Ramara. The dedication of many years of service to the community; volunteerism will leave a lasting legacy and provides informal leadership resulting in the betterment of the Township.
