The Lagoon City Parks and Waterways Commission (L.C.P.W.C.), is excited to launch the contest - NAME OUR HARVESTER!

L.C.P.W.C. is looking to name both the harvesters and barge and needs your help to come up with the most creative names possible.

The contest is open from February 15 to April 5 to residents of Ramara.

About L.C.P.W.C's Weed Harvesting

The Lagoon City Parks & Waterways Commission is tasked with cutting and clearing of aquatic weeds from the canals of Lagoon City.  In order to complete this charge, the LCPW team operates a small Weed Harvester that cuts and removes weeds from the canals of Lagoon City from July 2 through to Thanksgiving.  Harvested weeds are transferred to the Transport Barge and taken to the off-loading site where they are transferred to the conveyor and dumped into a bin that is hauled away for disposal. Beginning in 2023, the LCPW team will be operating a 2^nd larger Weed Harvester along with the transport barge.

Contest

The LCPW equipment is seen on a regular basis throughout the canals of Lagoon City, and the LCPWC is looking to you for name suggestions for the small harvester, the large harvester and the transport barge.

How to participate

1. The Name our Harvester contest is open to all Ramara residents.
2. All submissions must be respectful and appropriate.
3. The contest closes Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 4:30 p.m.
4. The winners will be announced  during the Lagoon City Parks and Waterways Commission meeting on Thursday, April 13, 2023.
5. The contest winners will be notified by email or telephone and will receive a $50 gift certificate to a local business. 
6. Only one prize per person.
