Summer of Trails - Photo Contest
The Township is starting the summer with a photo contest and a weekly campaign to promote the trails in Ramara. The aim is to raise awareness and educate trail users about the various trails around Ramara.

Ramara Trail
The Ramara trail is 6 km long and part of the Trans Canada Trail. It starts at the Mnjikaning Fishing Weirs National Historic Site and continues north, following the abandoned CN rail line to Casino Rama. Lagoon City Trail
The Lagoon City trail is approximately 2.5 km long and runs off Laguna Parkway. Adventure on the trail and check out the various wildlife, including a heron rookery. From March 15 to August 15, the township has established a Quiet Zone area to help protect the herons from excessive or loud sounds during the heron's mating and nesting season.

Washago Trail
The Washago Trail is part of the Trans Canada Trail - the world's largest network of recreational multi-use trails. The Washago Trail starts in Washago and ends at Coopers Falls Road to connect to the Town of Gravenhurst trails. It is over 13 km long and consists of off-road and on the road trails.
Cycling in Ramara
Ramara is a great place to cycle, with routes from Orilla to Gamebridge. Check out Cycle Simcoe and view our cycling map to find cycling trails throughout the area.
Atherley to Bayshore Village
The trail is approximately 18 km in length and follows along quiet asphalt roads with some gravel areas. The trail passes through a mix of agricultural lands, lakefront communities and cottage country.

Lagoon City to Brock Township
The trail is approximately 13.5 km in length and follows along quiet asphalt roads. The trail passes by Lagoon City and ends at Thorah Centennial Park in Brock Township.

Other Trails In Ramara
Ganaraska Trail
The Ganaraska Trail is a recreational trail that began in 1967 and has a total length of 500 km. The trail continues to grow due to the hard work of volunteers and private landowners who maintain and develop the trail that stretches across every type of landscape. You can access the Ganaraska Trail at a variety of locations throughout the Township.
Ramara Trails Committee
The Trails Committee oversees the management and development of the Ramara Trails. This group of volunteers and members of Council work tirelessly to ensure that Ramara has trails for residents and visitors to enjoy.
