Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers play an important role in making a difference in our community. Volunteering is an excellent way to enrich the community, acquire new skills, gain experience, socialize with new people, and have fun.
Boards, Committees, and Commissions
We rely on citizens to volunteer their time and knowledge by serving on various boards and committees. These boards and committees provide suggestions and recommendations to the Ramara Council on issues that impact the entire community.

About Ramara
|
- The Township of Ramara is in the heartland of Cottage Country and is located on the northeastern shores of Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching.
- With a permanent population of 10,300 people, the area swells in the summer with seasonal residents and visitors.
- Departments include: Legislative and Community Services, Planning, Fire and Emergency Services, Building, Infrastructure (Roads, Parks, Cemeteries, Fleet, Water and Wastewater), Finance, Human Resources, Communications and Economic Development

What to Expect
|
- Available jobs are primarily posted on our website, on Indeed, and other relevant professional associations or recruitment websites
- You can apply via email to all posted jobs by sending your cover letter and resume to bwilson@ramara.ca
- We will review resumes and cover letters once the posting is closed
- Only those candidates chosen to take part in an interview will be contacted
- We will contact candidates first by email (in most cases)
- Panel interviews at the municipal office are primarily behavioural based, where we are looking for examples from your previous experience
- We may ask for professional references from final candidates
- Certain positions will be required to submit qualification verification, and vulnerable sector police background checks. All documentation is requested when an applicant receives an offer.
- If you are not a successful candidate during the interview process, you will be notified by phone or email

Interviewing
Panel interview
- Often includes the hiring manager and the Human Resources Coordinator, may also include a supervisor or coworker
- Style is primarily behavioural based, meaning we are looking for specific examples from your experience
- You can prepare for this interview by thinking about examples where you demonstrated key requirements of the job (teamwork, customer service, technical skill, etc.)
- Another chance for you to ask questions about the job or the recruitment process
References
- Final candidates will be asked to provide professional references, preferably someone you reported directly to
- We will not contact references other than those you provide
- Some positions require education verification, a police background check, or a driver's abstract
