Our commitment
It is our responsibility to provide an effective government for everyone in Ramara. This means doing everything we can to be accountable and transparent by encouraging public access and participation in the matters that affect our municipality.
We will:
- Respond to the needs of the public and value their opinions
- Deliver high quality services to our citizens
- Promote the efficient use of public resources
Accountability and transparency are standards of good government that improve public trust. They are achieved through the municipality adopting measures which ensure that all activities and services are undertaken using a process that is open and accessible to our stakeholders.
The following measures are in place to ensure the operations of the Township are accountable and transparent:
Municipal Closed Meeting Investigations
Conflict of Interest Registry
When members of Council, as well as Committees and Boards, discuss topics that involve personal interests, they must publicly declare these conflicts. The Municipal Conflict of Interest Act requires the municipality to maintain a public registry as of March 1, 2019 of all pecuniary interests declared by members of Council, Committees and Boards. Visit Ramara's Conflict of Interest Registry to view the declarations.
Policies and Bylaws
Ramara has developed and maintains various policies respecting the accountability and transparency of municipal government and its operations.
