The Commission approved moving this request to the Budget 2024 deliberations.
Ramara Chamber of Commerce Request
The Ramara Chamber of Commerce requested the Commission to use the south private beach for the Annual Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament on August 19, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Commission approved the request upon receipt of liability insurance in the amount of $5,000,000 and to advise beach security of the event.
Beach Reclamation and Clean up
The Commission approved the beach reclamation project for the north and south private beach in the final 2023 budget. Staff applied for a permit with the Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority in the spring to conduct the work as the area is in an LSRCA regulated area. Currently, staff have not received the permit to complete the work. The Commission also discussed purchasing beach clean-up equipment that would help remove aquatic weeds or garbage from the beaches to help beautify the area and enhance the experience for Lagoon City residents. The Commission approved moving the discussions of purchasing Beach Cleaning Equipment to the Budget 2024 deliberations.
