About Local Government
The Township of Ramara is part of a two-tier municipality. This means that the upper-tier municipality (the County of Simcoe) delivers select services for its local municipalities. The County of Simcoe’s other local municipalities include: Township of Severn, Town of Penetanguishene, Township of Springwater, Township of Tay, Township of Tiny, Township of Clearview, Town of Collingwood, Township of Essa, Town of Innisfil, Town of Midland, Township of Oro-Medonte, Town of Wasaga Beach, Township of Adjala-Tosorontio, Town of New Tecumseth, and the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Ramara Council |
The governing body of the Township of Ramara is municipal council. The Township of Ramara Council has 7 members (1 Mayor, 1 Deputy Mayor, and 5 Ward Councillors) and makes decisions, sets policies and bylaws, and sets the municipal budget for local services. Those elected earn a seat on Ramara Council for a four (4) year term. The Mayor and Deputy Mayor will represent Ramara on the County of Simcoe’s Council. |
