Accounts Voucher
The Accounts Voucher outlines the invoices received by the Lagoon City Parks and Waterways Commission for the periods from Augusts 31 to December 3, 2024, and one invoice from January 14, 2025. As this document did not include the attached invoices or receipts, the Commission approved to defer the Accounts Voucher dated January 31, 2025, until the March 13, 2025, Lagoon City Parks and Waterways meeting date.
The Accounts Voucher is included in every Lagoon City Parks and Waterways Agenda to ensure transparency regarding the expenses incurred by the Commission.
Budget to Actual Report
The Budget to Actual Report is provided to the Commission monthly, and it outlines the 2025 budget and actuals amounts with remaining budget left to spent. As well, it provides historical information on both 2023 and 2024 budget and actual amounts or the Commission to examine previous budgets. The Commission approved to update the language for some budget items for consistency and transparency.
Unfinished or New Business
Bertrand v. Township of Ramara Court Decision
The Commission received the reasons for decision regarding the Barrie Court File No. CV-21-212-000, regarding two by-laws enacted in 2020 by the Township of Ramara concerning the construction and maintenance of shorewalls within Lagoon City.
Levy information
The Commission approved to add Bylaw 2021.78 – A Bylaw to Amend Bylaw 2001.87 being a bylaw to apportion the charges of the Lagoon City Parks and Waterways Commission. As well, the Commission approved for a visual to be created to outline how the levy is created and communicated on the tax bill.
Spring Speaker Series
Since 2023, the Commission has had a Waterside Wisdom Spring Speaker Series to help resident learn about various topics from the health of Lake Simcoe to how to become excellent stewards of their waterside properties to understanding how governance is applied to Lagoon City's lands and waterways. The Commission approved for the Commission to bring back suggestions to the April 10 meeting regarding speakers for the Waterside Wisdom Spring Speaker Series.
South Footbridge Lighting
The Commission asked staff for an update regarding lighting at the south footbridge. Staff advised that an update will be provided at the March 13, 2025, meeting.
