Ramara, ON – February 14, 2024 – Are you looking for volunteer experience, or would you like to be involved with decisions and plans that affect your community? The Township of Ramara has volunteer positions available for four different committees. The term of each vacancy ends November 2026 after the 2026 municipal election.

The following four Committees are looking for new members to join their teams.

• Brechin and Beyond - unlimited number of vacancies
• Rooted in Ramara - four vacancies
• Trails Committee - three vacancies
• Ramara Youth Action Committee - four vacancies

Overview of Committees

Brechin and Beyond

Brechin and Beyond Committee is responsible for creating pride within the township by encouraging businesses and residents to invest in the future of Ramara through beautification projects, art projects and more. The Committee meetings monthly on Tuesdays.

Rooted in Ramara

The Rooted in Ramara Committee educates the community on gardening and food sustainability while creating food security through community initiatives for positive change and food independence. The Committee meets monthly.

Trails Committee

The Trails Committee oversees the management and development of trails in Ramara, including providing feedback to existing and proposed trail routes and maximizing trail advancement opportunities through funding and other potential resources. The Trails Committee meets monthly on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.

Youth Action Council

The Youth Action Council (Y.A.C.) develops and organizes activities for Ramara's youth and serves as a voice for youth issues in the township. The Y.A.C. is currently postponing meetings until new members join.

The public can find more information about each Committee and instructions on how to apply online on the township's page at www.ramara.ca/applynow. Applications will close when vacancies have been filled.
