Ramara, ON/ March 7, 2025 – Starting March 8, the Township is implementing reduced load restrictions on all Township of Ramara roads. Similarly, the County of Simcoe is also enacting reduced load restrictions on all County of Simcoe roads.

These load restrictions are important for protecting our roads and their foundations from damage caused by heavy loads. In the spring, as the frost melts and moisture seeps into the roadbed, the roads become softer and more vulnerable to deterioration from heavy vehicle traffic. The seasonal load restrictions aim to extend the lifespan of our municipal roadways and prevent permanent damage.

Typically, these load restrictions are enforced from early March to May. However, staff will closely monitor the weather and road conditions and will notify the public when the restrictions are lifted.
