Notice of a Complete Application Concerning Proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments
Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Ramara deemed the following applications “Complete” applications under Sections 22 and 34 of the Planning Act on the 22nd day of January, 2024.
And Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Ramara will hold a Public Meeting regarding the application at a future date to be determined. The notice of which will be provided in accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended.

Purpose and Effect:
The proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments will amend the current official plan designation and zoning from “Rural (RU)” and “Agriculture (AG)” to “Mineral Aggregate Extraction (MAE)” and “Mineral Aggregate Extraction Special Exception (MAE-xx)" to permit the lands to be used for a proposed quarry operation. The proposed licensed area is 151.4 hectares, with 91.5 hectares of that area to be used for extraction. The lands are mapped as High Potential Mineral Aggregate Resources Area on Schedule D of the Township of Ramara Official Plan.

Any person may make written representation either in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw Amendments. Signed, written submissions will be accepted by the Clerk prior to the meeting. Written submissions can be sent electronically to jconnor@ramara.ca, can be dropped in the mail drop box at the Township Administration Centre at 2297 Highway 12, Brechin or faxed to (705) 484-0441. Please ensure your name and address are included as required for the public record.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Council of the Township or Ramara on the proposed Amendments, you must make a written request to the Municipal Clerk of the Township of Ramara at the address noted below prior to Council rendering a decision.
If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township or Ramara to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Ramara before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Township of Ramara before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
