Take Notice that the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Ramara will hold a Public Meeting to consider a proposed municipally-led Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment pursuant to Sections 17, 26 and 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13.
Date and Time | Meeting Location | File Numbers | Subject Property |
---|---|---|---|
Monday October 30, 2023 Commencing at 7:00 p.m. | Council Chambers (2297 Highway 12, Brechin) and Zoom Platform | OP-3/23 and Z-9/23 | Lands Abutting Benson Road, Fish Sideroad, Victoria Park Road, Williams Road and Willison Sideroad |
Purpose and Effect:
The purpose of the Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendments is to add policies to specific properties that abut Benson Road, Fish Sideroad, Victoria Park Road, Williams Road and Willison Sideroad, which are subject to the Ramara – Rama First Nation roads transfer. The road segments will be transferred to the ownership of the Chippewas of Rama First Nation. The proposed amendments will add specific language to the properties, deeming the lots to be considered fronting on an open public road. The amendment also removes the specific roads from Schedule B “Roads Plan” in the Township of Ramara Official Plan.
The meeting will be a Hybrid Meeting accessed on the Zoom platform, in person in the Council Chambers and live streamed on the Township’s YouTube Channel. You have the option to attend the meeting in person or virtually. If you wish to attend virtually, please advise the Township of your email address no later than Friday October 27, 2023, so an invitation to join the public meeting can be sent.
Any person may make written representation either in support of, or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan Amendment. Signed, written submissions will be accepted by the Clerk prior to the meeting. Written submissions can be sent electronically to jconnor@ramara.ca, and it can be dropped in the mail drop box at the Township Administration Centre, 2297 Highway 12, Brechin or faxed to (705) 484-0441. Please ensure your name and address are included as required for the public record.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Council of the Township or Ramara on the proposed Official Plan Amendment, you must make a written request to the Clerk of the Township of Ramara, 2297 Highway 12 Box 130, Brechin, Ontario, L0K 1B0. jconnor@ramara.ca
If a person or public body would otherwise have the ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township or Ramara to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT), but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Ramara before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Township of Ramara before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
