Notice of the Passing of the Area-Specific Development Charges By-law by the Township of Ramara
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Township of Ramara passed Area Specific Development Charge By-laws No. 2024.52 and 2024.53 on the 24th day of June 2024, under Section 2 of the Development Charges Act, 1997 (the Act).
AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or organization may appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal under Section 14 of the Act, in respect of the Areas Specific Development Charges By-law, by filing with the Clerk of the Township of Ramara on or before Tuesday, August 6th, 2024 a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the By-law and the reasons supporting the objection. Appeals filed with the Office of the Clerk at 2297 Hwy 12, Brechin ON L0K 1B0, will be accepted on or before Tuesday, August 6th, 2024. A processing fee will be payable to the Township of Ramara Clerk’s Office with the appeal application. The appellant is advised to contact the Ontario Land Tribunal to access required forms and applicable fees.
The charges in the aforementioned by-laws will apply to all new residential and non-residential development in the Brechin/Lagoon City Service Area and Bayshore Village Service Area, subject to certain terms, conditions and limited exemptions as identified therein.
Area-specific development charges are levied against new development to pay for the increased capital costs related to the provision of such municipal services as Water and Sanitary Sewage. Schedules 1 and 2 below set out the development charge rates applicable throughout the Bayshore Village Service Area and the Brechin/Lagoon City Service Area, respectively.
Key maps are not set out in this notice as the details and scale of such maps would be difficult to reproduce in an accurate and legible form. Development charges are imposed on the development of all lands located within the geographic boundaries of the Brechin/Lagoon City Service Area and the Bayshore Village Service Area. A map of the Brechin/Lagoon City service area and the lands to which the development charges are applicable to in Bayshore Village are attached to their by-laws as Schedule “B” to By-law 2024.52 and 2024.53, respectively.
The development charges imposed under the By-laws came into effect on the 24th day of June 2024. Copies of the complete Development Charge By-laws are available for examination during regular business hours (weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) in the offices of the Township located at 2297 Highway 12, Brechin, and on the website at www.ramara.ca.
