Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Ramara passed By-law No. #2023.81 on November 27, 2023 under Section 34 of the Planning Act R.S.O., 1990.
And Take Notice that the last date for filing a notice of appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal in respect of the By-law is the 26th day of December 2023. A Notice of Appeal setting out the reasons for the appeal must be filed with the Clerks Department of the Township of Ramara and accompanied by the appropriate fee, as required by the Ontario Land Tribunal. Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a zoning by-law to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT). A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the By-law was passed, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Council or, in the opinion of the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
An explanation of the purpose and effect of the By-law is below, the by-law amendment covers specific properties that abut road sections of which the ownership if being transferred to the Chippewas of Rama First Nation. Purpose and Effect
The Zoning By-law amendment was reviewed in conjunction with Official Plan Amendment No. 23 to add a site specific zoning to properties that abut Benson Road, Fish Sideroad, Victoria Park Road, Williams Road and Willison Sideroad, which are subject to the Ramara – Chippewas of Rama First Nation road transfer. This site specific zoning symbol suffix “-TR” will add specific language to the subject properties, deeming the lots to be considered fronting on an open public road.
The proposed amendments have been initiated by the Corporation of the Township of Ramara and applies to specific properties abutting Benson Road, Fish Sideroad, Victoria Park Road, Williams Road and Willison Sideroad.
