Immediate Release
Ramara, ON/ February 26, 2025 – Ramara Council approved the 2025 Parking Program. This program outlines enforcement measures aimed at managing parking in high-demand areas. Similar to last year's program, it includes a resident parking permit system and a paid parking program in designated areas of the Township.
Resident Parking Program
Starting on Monday, March 17, 2025, residents can register for their two free parking passes, and if needed, one paid parking pass, online at ramara.ca/parking or in person at the Township Administration Building located at 2297 Highway 12, Brechin, during business hours. The 2024 resident parking permit will be valid until Sunday, March 16, 2025.
To apply, residents must know the following information:
- The first and last name(s) on the request form must match municipal records.
- The resident parking permits will be mailed to the address the Township has on file (the same as the address tax bills are sent).
- The license plate(s) information for each parking permit is entered on the form.
Residents should remember to display their resident parking permit face up on the car's mirror with the corresponding vehicle license plate number. They are also reminded to comply with all no-parking restrictions in different areas of the Township by referring to the posted signage.
The resident parking permit program can be used at the following locations:

Paid Parking Program
The Township of Ramara has established a paid parking program at specific municipal lots and on-street locations:
- Municipal Parking Lots at Lagoon City Beach and Park and Bluebird Park.
- The Trailhead Parking area on Laguna parkway.
- On-street parking on Lakeshore Drive from Simcoe Road to Maple Trail.
- On-street parking on the west side of Courtland Street from Lake Simcoe to a safe spot on the road north of Orkney Beach Road.
At each municipal parking lot or on-street parking location, the parking rate is $5 per hour between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. There will be no overnight parking or unattached trailer parking at either location. The public can pay by either downloading the free HonkAPP or using the HonkTAP payment option available on the signage.
With HonkTAP, there is no app to download or pay station to touch; paying for parking is easier and safer than ever. After scanning the QR code, drivers tap on a pop-up notification to open a pre-loaded payment screen with rate options. Drivers type in their license plates and select how long they want to park. The HONK payment system integrates directly with Ramara's parking enforcement, passing paid parking sessions to enforcement officers in real-time.
Special Occasion Parking Permit
Residents may apply for a Special Occasion Parking Permit for visitors to park on Township streets. Applications are only available online, and once approved, permits need to be printed and displayed on the driver's side dash.
A resident must apply seven (7) days in advance for the permit, which is only valid on the street or at or near the municipal address as indicated on the permit. A Special Occasion Parking Permit can be applied for online at www.ramara.ca/parking.
