Ramara/November 25, 2024 – Today at the Special Council meeting, Ramara Council adopted its 2025 budget with a 5.14% increase on the municipal portion of the tax rate, equating to an extra $30.65 per $100,000 assessment value.
Each year, Ramara Township’s Council develops a budget that supports the funding needed to maintain current services and service levels. This year, the budget reflects the reinvestment into core infrastructure, including roads, water and wastewater, with $12.9 million allocated to capital projects.
“This year’s budget presented a significant challenge for Council as we continue to prioritize investments in services and infrastructure that address the needs of our community both now and in the future while being fiscally responsible. As a direct result of the impact of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) expenses, which constitute 2.6% of the tax rate increase, Council had to make the difficult decision to approve a 5.14% increase. I would like to thank the Council members, staff, and residents for their hard work and valuable contributions during the budget process.”
~ Basil Clarke, Mayor
