IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ramara Township reminds residents to renew their dog tags before March 1!
Ramara/December 4, 2023 - As the new year approaches, Ramara residents are reminded to licence their dogs and purchase a 2024 dog tag before March 1.
In the township, all dogs over the age of three months must be licenced and wear a tag. The tag must always be securely fixed on the dog unless lawfully used for hunting in the bush. With a limit of three dogs per household, excluding kennels, residents can apply online or in person for their dog tag at a fee of $20.00 per tag or $50.00 per tag starting March 1.
"Dogs within the township must be licenced and tagged. When dogs are found running at large, whether during or after hours, we can quickly contact the owners and safely return them to their homes. When dogs are not tagged, they are impounded until the owners are found, resulting in the homeowner paying impound fees."
~Jon Popple, Manager of Community Standards
Due to supply chain issues, 2023 dog tags were never received by the township; however, 2024 dog tags are here and ready to be purchased. Any resident who purchased a dog tag in 2023 can complete the renewal form and receive their 2024 tag for free.
