Ramara Fire and Rescue Services will be on the road on Wednesday, May 1, and Wednesday, May 8, working hard to maintain our Superior Tanker Shuttle Certification.
This is a test performed by our Ramara Fire and Rescue Services for the insurance underwriter to demonstrate that we can supply a set amount of water continuously for a two-hour period. We must also demonstrate that we can deliver this over a pre-determined distance that is typical of true service delivery.
Once the Fire and Rescue Services has successfully completed the test, the Township will have maintained our accreditation for this service. This is a significant benefit for the people of Ramara, particularly those living at a set distance from the fire hall. They will receive the same insurance rate as someone with a hydrant in front of their house, ensuring their security and peace of mind.
For more information on the recognition of this accreditation, please speak to your individual insurance company.
As this accreditation is extremely important to the people of Ramara, we ask that you avoid the area where the practice and test will be held on these days. This includes County Road 47 between Highway 12 and Concession Road 4, Concession Road 4 between Highway 12 and County Road 47 and Highway 12 between County Road 47 and Concession Road 6. A detailed map can be viewed below. The practice and test will commence at 6 p.m. each Wednesday evening and be completed by 9 p.m. The trucks will run in full emergency mode (lights and sirens) to maintain their qualification.
We would like to express our gratitude to the community for their continued support and understanding, as we strive to deliver the excellent service that you expect.
