"On behalf of all of Council, I want to congratulate all of the recruits for their time and commitment to learning and training to keep the Ramara community safe. Our volunteer fire department is an integral part of our community that ensures our community receives the help they need when they need it the most."
- Deputy Mayor Keith Bell
This year, Rama Fire and Ramara Fire and Rescue Services partnered together for a joint training venture that worked on training and preparing the candidates for written and practical provincial testing to help qualify them for their Firefighter Level 1 and Level 2 certifications. Each department completed its own application and selection process and pooled the successful candidates into the joint training venture.
“We were very pleased with the success of our joint recruitment program with our neighbours as we welcome these successful candidates to the communities of Ramara and Rama,” states Fire Chief Stong. “These individuals will be at the frontlines protecting our community, and I am very proud of the time and dedication these recruits have committed to learning and developing their technical skills.”
- Fire Chief Tony Stong
